This update adds six ships across two new branches, controllable drone groups, a second flight control scheme, and a ship atlas.
Missile ships
Three missile ships join the progression tree:
- A level 3 corvette armed with salvos of homing missiles.
- A level 8 torpedo ship with an area-damage warhead.
- A level 8 missile cruiser with four salvo launchers and a defensive turret.
Missiles accelerate after launch and turn toward their target in wide arcs. A marker shows an eligible target under the cursor and stays visible while your missiles are heading toward it.
Automatic turrets can intercept incoming missiles. An intercepted torpedo is destroyed without detonating its warhead.
Missile trails, smoke, impact effects, and interception effects have been added, along with a shockwave for torpedo explosions. A loaded torpedo is visible on the ship and disappears when fired.
Carriers and drones
A new branch opens from the Scout:
- Flight launches two drones.
- Screen and Horizon launch four each.
Drones fight, collect resources for their owner, and benefit from the carrier's upgrades. Destroyed drones are replaced after a cooldown.
Guide the group with your cursor. Left-click assigns a priority target, and right-click clears it. Press the middle mouse button to recall drones to their hangars, then press it again to launch them. Docked drones retain their remaining health.
The camera can follow the group away from the carrier, within its available viewing range.
Two flight control schemes
Press T during a match to switch between cursor steering and piloting controls.
With cursor steering, the ship turns toward the cursor while WASD moves it in world directions. Piloting controls use:
- W/S for forward and reverse thrust.
- A/D to turn the hull.
- Q/E for sideways thrust.
Turning the hull preserves your current direction of travel. Applying thrust gradually reduces sideways drift, so changing course takes the ship's momentum into account.
Forward-mounted weapons fire along the hull's heading. The cursor controls manual turrets, missile targeting, and camera look-ahead. R switches turrets between manual and automatic fire.
Your chosen flight mode carries over when you change ships or respawn. The HUD shows the current modes, and the controls can be rebound. Hub controls remain unchanged.
Ship atlas
The new atlas shows all 19 playable ships, their upgrade paths, detailed stats, and weapons.
Open it with I or the button in the upgrades panel. Press I or Esc to close it. Ships appear as vertical cards around a circular tree, with scrolling available to explore the map.
Fixes
- Reduced abrupt visual corrections to your ship's position during collisions.
- Added a safeguard against camera shake continuing too long after a warp.
Previously customized key bindings will need to be set up again after updating.
